The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to do the job without more than normal supervision for the following 1) Following instructions to repair high voltage electrical power-generating and distribution equipment (e.g., generators, transformers, switches, circuit breakers, recording instruments, and control systems) 2) Reading circuit drawing and diagrams to identify electrical problems AND 3) Using safety equipment such as hot sticks, rubber blankets, and insulated gloves when working on energized high voltage electrical systems.). Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. You will troubleshoot high voltage lines (e.g., overhead, underground) to diagnose faults. You will use test devices (e.g., voltmeters, ohmmeters, meggers) and electrical tools to conduct basic checks for continuity, resistance, voltage, shorts, insulation breakdowns, and grounds.
